Rep. Lisa Subeck Praises Wisconsin Supreme Court Absentee Ballot Drop Box Decision
MADISON – Today, the Wisconsin Supreme Court overturned a previous decision that restricted the ability of municipal elections clerks to offer the use of drop boxes for voters to return absentee ballots.
Rep. Lisa Subeck released the following statement in response:
“After years of attempts by Donald Trump and Republicans to cast doubt on election results through unfounded allegations and wild speculation, coupled with efforts to gain an advantage in Wisconsin by limiting absentee voting and suppressing the votes of many Wisconsinites, this decision is a significant victory for voters and for our democracy.
Absentee ballot drop boxes are a secure, easy, and accessible way to ensure every eligible voter has the opportunity to exercise their fundamental right to vote.”
Rep. Subeck has represented the 78th Assembly District since 2015 and serves as Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
