Representative Lisa Subeck Responds to State of the Tribes Address

MADISON – Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) released the following statement in response to the 2023 State of the Tribes Address, delivered this year by Chairman Robert Van Zile of the Sokaogon Chippewa Community, Mole Lake Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, and the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council.

“The State of the Tribes Address is a powerful tradition, celebrating and encouraging the exchange of ideas between state legislators and Wisconsin’s sovereign tribal nations.

We must work closely and respectfully with our tribal partners to keep our land and water clean, our communities safe, and our economy strong. The bonds we form today will become the foundation of a brighter and more equitable future for all Wisconsinites.”

Rep. Subeck has represented the 78th Assembly District since 2015 and serves as Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
