Representative Lisa Subeck Joins Community and Religious Leaders Calling for Investigation into Anti-Semitic Messages at UW Madison

MADISON – Today, Representative Lisa Subeck released the following statement supporting an investigation into anti-Semitic messages in chalk targeting Jewish student groups on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.

“These Anti-Semitic attacks on the Jewish student community are appalling and have no place on our campus or in our community. Anonymous messages labeling Jewish student groups as ‘genocidal’ and ‘having blood on their hands’ can only be classified as anti-Semitic rhetoric and falls well outside the boundaries of open dialogue.

Our university must foster a welcoming atmosphere where all students can live and learn free from bigotry and hate. The administration at UW-Madison should immediately open an investigation to determine and address the source of these messages.”

Representative Lisa Subeck has represented the 78th Assembly District since 2015 and serves as a board member of the National Foundation of Jewish Legislators and the Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
