Representative Lisa Subeck Appointed by Governor Evers to the Wisconsin Birth to 3 Program Interagency Coordinating Council 

MADISON- Today, Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) announced her appointment by Governor Tony Evers to the Wisconsin Birth to 3 Program Interagency Coordinating Council and will attend her first meeting of the Council since her appointment. The Council assists the Department of Health Services (DHS) in carrying out the responsibilities established under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

“It is an honor to serve as the sole legislative member on the Wisconsin Birth to 3 Program Interagency Coordinating Council, and I thank Governor Evers for entrusting me with this responsibility. I look forward to drawing upon my experience in Early Childhood Education in this new role,” said Rep. Subeck.  “I am dedicated to improving outcomes for children with special needs and assisting their families to find solutions to address their unique challenges. The work of the Council is important to ensuring successful outcomes for Wisconsin’s most vulnerable children.”

ICC advises, reviews, and makes recommendations to DHS regarding the effective application of the early intervention system while reinforcing of the importance of parent partnerships, community support, teamwork, collaboration, and the importance of early intervention.

Members of Council consist of stakeholders such as parents of children with developmental disabilities or delays, providers of early intervention services, representatives from state agencies involved in providing services that impact infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families, and a state legislator.
