REP. LISA SUBECK AND DEMOCRATS INTRODUCE COVID-19 RESPONSE LEGISLATION

MADISON - Today, Assembly Democrats announced comprehensive legislation to address the COVID-19 pandemic throughout Wisconsin.

Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) released the following statement:

“Today, on the first day of the legislative session, we introduced legislation to address the COVID-19 pandemic in our state. Our plan responds to the needs of our constituents as Wisconsinites face continued challenges with access to affordable healthcare, workplace safety, and economic security in the face of the pandemic.

“In April, the Legislature convened and took initial steps to address COVID-19. Most action taken then has long since expired as the pandemic wreaks further havoc on the lives of Wisconsin residents and our communities, and further action by the legislature is long past due.

“After months of inaction on the part of Republicans, it is time to come together to address the health and economic impacts of the pandemic by providing the relief Wisconsinites need and charting a path forward for economic recovery. Our COVID Response Plan does the vital work necessary to help families, businesses, and communities in every corner of Wisconsin.”

Rep. Lisa Subeck represents the 78th Assembly District in Madison and serves as the Vice-Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
