Small Business Development

On March 11 the Assembly Committee on Small Business Development, on which I serve, held an informational hearing that began with testimony from Secretary Missy Hughes of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.  Secretary Hughes was followed by a number of representatives from various Wisconsin businesses and industries, including the Hotel and Lodging Association, the Dairy Business Association, and the Restaurant Association.

The Assembly will hold two floor sessions next week, on March 16 and March 17.

Upcoming Budget Hearings

The Legislature's Joint Finance Committee has announced three in-person public hearings and one virtual hearing on the 2021-2023 state budget bill in April.  The closest in-person hearing to the 75th Assembly District will be at UW-Stout in Menomonie on April 22, and the statewide virtual hearing will be April 28.  More details will be added to the hearing website as they are finalized.  Members of the public may also submit written comments to the Finance Committee at the e-mail address above or through the website.

I plan to hold listening sessions around the 75th District this spring, so please stay tuned.

Spring Forward!

Don't forget that Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 14.
