Armstrong Comments on Violence in Washington

Madison – State Rep. Dave Armstrong (R-Rice Lake) has condemned last week’s violent assault on the U.S. Capitol.

“Events like the violence at the U.S. Capitol last week are entirely unacceptable in a civilized society.  Thousands of supporters of President Trump were in Washington, DC, to peacefully protest the results of November’s election when rogue characters stormed the Capitol, causing death and destruction.  News reports over the weekend show law enforcement has made numerous arrests nationwide, and I hope this continues.

“We are a nation of laws.  Our Constitution allows for the ability to peacefully assemble, and we are assured freedom of speech.  Any attempts to erode these rights should be strongly rebuffed. However, we cannot accept political violence from any group, and all lawbreakers need to be held accountable or we will lose this Republic.”

The 75th Assembly District includes most of Barron County and portions of Washburn, Polk, Burnett, Dunn, and Saint Croix counties.
