The Town of Alban where Peter Yogerst resides, in the district of Rep. Katrina Shankland.

"Like many Town of Alban residents, I was deeply concerned when I heard the news that SVP Peter Yogerst was arrested late last night. After speaking with the Portage County Sheriff and the Department of Corrections, I learned that the SVP's GPS monitoring device had malfunctioned, which triggered the alert and his subsequent arrest," Shankland stated in a news release.

The Portage Sheriff's Department received a teletype message late Saturday night in from the monitoring system of Yogerst, 42.

Deputies responded to Yogerst's home in the Town of Alban, near Rosholt and neighbors were alerted. Yogerst was arrested at the home without incident.
