Governor Evers to declare trivia weekend in Wisconsin

STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) -- One of the biggest weekends for UWSP and the Stevens Point community is upon us.

The World's Largest Trivia Contest begins Friday at 6 PM and is scheduled to run through midnight on Sunday.

A parade around campus will kick off the event at 4 PM.

Governor Tony Evers has issued a proclamation declaring the second weekend in April Trivia Weekend in Wisconsin as well. State Rep. Katrina Shankland will be on hand to read the Governor's proclamation following Friday's parade in the parking lot of PJ Jacobs Junior High

In a statement, Shankland said  “I’m thrilled that Governor Evers has recognized the cultural and economic importance of Trivia Weekend by declaring it Trivia Weekend in the state of Wisconsin! The 50th anniversary of this contest is of great importance to our community. Trivia Weekend is packed full of incredible music, the best people, the weirdest questions, and an amazing time – and now the state gets to celebrate with us. Thank you to Governor Evers for declaring it Trivia Weekend in Wisconsin!”

Hundreds of trivia players will spend the weekend in Stevens Point with many more playing online. The top teams receive trophies and bragging rights.
