Bills Look To Increase Testing For CWD In WI

State Representative Katrina Shankland is proposing legislation to increase testing for Chronic Wasting Disease in Wisconsin’s deer herd.

“While CWD testing has increased since the diseases’ first detection in Wisconsin, we can and should continue building on this by expanding our testing efforts, as well as increasing access to carcass dumpsters for carcass disposal, and expanding CWD research.”

Bills from Shankland and state Senator Jeff Smith include funding for the DNR’s self-service CWD sampling kiosks, and another two-million dollars for disposal sites for infected deer carcasses.
