Rep. Shankland: Receives Legislative Excellence Award from Dairy Business Association
MADISON— Today, Rep. Katrina Shankland (D-Stevens Point) announced she was presented the Legislative Excellence award from the Dairy Business Association. In a statement announcing the award, Chad Zuleger, Director of Government Affairs for the Dairy Business Association, said the following:
“Rep. Shankland has shown a strong commitment to enhancing water quality efforts in Wisconsin. She recognizes the vital importance of clean and sustainable water resources, not only for our dairy community but for the overall health and prosperity of our state. Her dedication to environmental conservation and responsible clean water policy is a testament to her leadership in safeguarding the future of Wisconsin’s natural resources.”
Upon receiving the award, Rep. Shankland made the following statement:
“Wisconsin has a proud agricultural heritage, and our dairy farmers play a vital role in our statewide economic success. Throughout my time in the Legislature, the Dairy Business Association has been a strong partner as we work together to protect our state’s water quality, promote best conservation practices in agriculture, expand programs to support our dairy farmers, and ensure our state’s farmland remains in production. Our shared goal to sustain our family farmers and strengthen Wisconsin’s $105 billion agriculture economy is a priority of mine in the Legislature.
