Longtime Plover treasurer honored

PLOVER – Former village treasurer Deb Sniadajewski was honored for her 46 years of public service in Plover on July 22, at the village municipal building outdoor patio.
State Senator Patrick Testin and Representative Katrina Shankland presented the recent retiree with a commendation and a state and U.S. flag that were flown over the state capital during the proceedings.

“It’s a real honor to be here to celebrate 46 years of service by Deb, your leadership and everything you’ve done, thank you,” Testin said. “We wanted to give you these as a token of our appreciation for your leadership and everything you’ve done for the people and the village of Plover.”

Sniadajewski started in the village in 1974 when the village population was just over 2,000. Since her start, she has written over $1.1 billion in checks and witnessed the community’s population boom to roughly 13,000.

“This all just brings me to tears, and I am so happy and proud of this village,” Sniadajewski said in an interview with the Gazette. “I miss the people I work with, but I know the village is in good hands. I will miss coming into work in the morning and rehashing the nightly news. It was like once we started talking, we could always solve all of our problems

Village Administrator Dan Mahoney thanked Deb for her dedication to the village. “We hope you have a healthy, happy retirement,” he said.
