Blue Books / How a Bill Becomes a Law
If you would like a State of Wisconsin Blue Book or the How a Bill Becomes a Law resource packet please send me an e-mail with your name and address or call my office to request one.
(608) 237-9156 or Rep.Murphy@legis.Wisconsin.gov
Blue Books are available here
A PDF copy of How a Bill Becomes a Law is available here.
Legislative Citations and Plaques
An official citation from the state legislature is a wonderful way to recognize an outstanding achievement. The legislature regularly issues citations honoring people who have become Eagle Scouts, received the Girl Scout Gold Award, retired after a long career, proudly served in the Armed Forces, and many other notable accomplishments.
If my schedule permits, I make a point of attending events to which I am invited to present the citation in person. Please contact my office at (608) 237-9156 or Rep.Murphy@legis.wisconsin.gov to arrange this process.
Travel Wisconsin Guides

Or you can order many related items directly from the Travel Wisconsin website.

Many legislative staffers and even some of colleagues began their careers in the Capitol as interns. Their experiences equipped them with the knowledge of state government and the tools they needed to succeed professionally. If you are a college student, an internship with the Wisconsin State Assembly can be a very rewarding experience. I encourage you to contact my office if you are interested in applying. If interested, submit your resume and a brief cover letter to my office at Rep.Murphy@legis.wisconsin.gov
Additional career opportunities are available in the legislature as well. If you would like your resume sent to a broader reach, please fill out the information requested.
