Rep. Dallman Has Three Bills Pass the State Assembly

Madison, WI --- State Representative Alex Dallman (R-Green Lake) had three bills up for a vote this week in the Assembly: Assembly Bill 255, Assembly Bill 318 and Assembly Bill 689. All three of these bills secured enough votes to pass and have been sent to the State Senate for consideration. Representative Dallman had the following comments:

“I was happy to see the Assembly take action on three of my bills, which I believe will have a positive impact for constituents around the 41st District and around the state,” said Representative Dallman. “I appreciate the opportunity to be the lead on these three bills which will help to stabilize our rural healthcare, give more rights to property owners, and address homelessness.”

AB 255 would create a rural pharmacy practice grant program. The Rural Pharmacy Incentive Program would incentivize graduates from Wisconsin’s three Schools of Pharmacy to serve in rural communities in exchange for student loan relief.

AB 318 would remove bureaucratic red-tape at the Department of Natural Resources by exempting certain private ponds under five acres from obtaining a permit for managing aquatic plants. The State of Wisconsin should have no business choosing winners and losers when it comes to how a private owner of a pond manages aquatic plants.

AB 689 would create a pay for performance structure for future state-funded grants to organizations addressing homelessness. This bill strengthens the public-private partnerships developed to help alleviate the hurdles that many in the homeless population face when trying to reestablish their lives. Wisconsinites should focus on safe, adequate housing for every citizen in need.
