Please find following information from the DNR.

  • With the archery and crossbow deer hunting season well underway, hunters can find tips on everything from field dressing a deer to hunting on public land on DNR’s Wild Wisconsin webpage.  Hunters can access a variety of web series segments, podcasts and more in season two of Wild Wisconsin.  Information on the current and upcoming deer seasons can also be found on the Department’s website by searching keyword “deer”.
  • New for Fall 2018, is the Hunt Wild Wisconsin mobile app.  This free app will help hunters create maps tailored to their hunt, find public hunting land, brush up on regulations, purchases license, register their harvest, and much more.
  • Wisconsin deer hunters are encouraged to have their harvested adult deer tested for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD).  Hunters can find the nearest sampling station by accessing DNR’s searchable list of registration stations.

Hunters can help families in need through the cooperative Deer Donation Program.  Since its inception in 2000, the Deer Donation Program has resulted in 3.6 million pounds of venison being processed and distributed to food pantries across the state.
