Representative Ellen Schutt Sworn in to First Term
Madison, WI – State Representative Ellen Schutt (R-Clinton) was sworn in on last Tuesday to her first term in the State Assembly. “It is truly an honor to be able to represent the 31st Assembly District in Madison,” Rep. Schutt said. “I am so thankful for the trust that my friends and neighbors have placed in me to represent them in the State Assembly.”
“I look forward to hitting the ground running, and immediately getting to work for the constituents of the area,” Schutt continued. “I am committed to working with my colleagues in the Assembly to find solutions to ensure a quality education for all, lower taxes, and help future generations live their American Dream.”
During the 2023-2024 legislative session, Representative Schutt will serve as vice-chair of the Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety. Additionally, she will serve as a member of the Committees on Agriculture; Colleges and Universities; Health, Aging and Long-Term Care; and Transportation. Upon her inauguration, Representative Schutt became the youngest Republican woman to be sworn into office since 2001. She currently resides in Clinton with her husband Eric, and dog, Ruby.
The 31st Assembly District includes the City of Elkhorn, portions of the Cities of Beloit, and Whitewater, the Villages of Clinton and Darien, the Towns of Bradford, Clinton, Johnstown, La Prairie, Turtle, Darien, Lafayette, La Grange, Richmond, Spring Prairie, Sugar Creek, and Whitewater, and portions of the Town of Beloit.
