Cup of Joe Volume 2
Hello and welcome back to my bi-weekly newsletter! It has been a busy two weeks, and I have a lot to update you on.
On Wednesday, I held my first budget listening session. It was a pleasure to be able to present all of the ways the Governor’s draft budget will positively affect the Sheboygan area. We were blessed to be joined by my colleague and Joint Finance Committee Member Representative Andraca. There were some great questions brought up. I hope participants left feeling as energized and ready as I did to keep working on getting the best possible budget passed. If you missed it, our next listening session is Saturday, April 12th from 3-4:30 in the Loft at the Mead Public Library.
Yesterday, I attended the Ribbon Cutting of the new Sheboygan Child Advocacy Center. When Sheboygan sees an issue in the community, we develop supportive systems. That is one of Sheboygan's many strengths.
On the 16th, Barb and I volunteered at the 37th annual Maywood Flapjack Day at the Maywood Ecology Center. It was a super fun event, and I was glad to see some of you there!
The Joint Finance Committee will be holding listening sessions throughout the state where you can make your voice heard to the whole committee on the budget. The first two are coming up on April 2nd at the Kaukauna High School Auxiliary Gymnasium (Door AA4) 1701 County Road CE Kaukauna, WI 54130 and on April 4th at the Wisconsin State Fair Park Exposition Center (Parking at Gate 4) 640 South 84th Street West Allis, WI 53214. If you can not make it in person, you can also submit testimony virtually!
I also wanted to remind you that there is an election coming up! Remember to vote on or before April 1st to make your voice heard. If you aren’t sure where to vote, just enter your address at the link below and it will tell you your voting location and show you a sample ballot!
That's all for now! Please reach out to my office if we can ever help you in any way. I will be in touch again soon.
Yours in service,
Joe Sheehan
State Representative
26th Assembly District
