Health Committee

Health Committee 10-16-19.jpg

On Wednesday, I came to Madison for an Assembly Committee on Health Public Hearing. We heard testimony for 5 bills, which lasted approximately 5 hours.

Here are the bills we heard about:

Assembly Bill 287
Relating to: certifications for advance directives and findings of incapacity related to powers of attorney for health care

Assembly Bill 462
Relating to: right to specific staffing arrangements for certain patients in an intensive treatment program

Assembly Bill 313
Relating to: establishing a tick-borne disease study committee

Assembly Bill 314
Relating to: increasing the number of authorized positions for the Department of Health Services and making an appropriation

Assembly Bill 317
Relating to: Department of Natural Resources' efforts to raise awareness about Lyme disease

We anticipate possibly voting on these bills in an Executive Session for Health Committee at the end of this month, as well as another public hearing on October 30th.

Let us know if you have any thoughts or questions on these bills!

Blue Books

What is the Wisconsin Blue Book?

Published biennially, the Wisconsin Blue Book is a valuable source for information about the State of Wisconsin. First published in 1853 as a manual for legislators, the Blue Book has evolved into a useful tool for the state’s residents, as well as a historical record of Wisconsin state government.

The Blue Book’s mission is to furnish the legislature and the public with information on state officers and governmental organization, along with statistical information and articles of general interest.

Get the 2019-2020 edition of the Wisconsin Blue Book by emailing our office at Rep.Vining@legis.wisconsin.gov with your name and mailing address. We'd be happy to drop off or send you a copy!

 Assisted Living Facility - Brookfield

Azura Brookfield 2 10-17.jpgHonored to attend the groundbreaking celebration for Azura's new assisted living and memory care facility in Brookfield! We are also joined by Senator Kooyenga and Brookfield Mayor Steve Ponto. Thank you for inviting us!
Fun fact: they are preserving the barn (pictured above) and keeping the farm stands on the property
