Session This Week
The Wisconsin State Assembly met in session on Tuesday to vote on numerous bills and resolutions, many that were introduced to create division and drive wedges.
I spoke on the floor in support of long-term and sustainable funding for students’ mental health programs in our K-12 schools.

Fallen Firefighter Memorial - Brookfield
Rep. Sara Rodriguez and I were honored to join The City of Brookfield and the Brookfield Fire Department for a memorial ceremony this morning as a part of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. The ceremony included NYFD’s 5-5-5-5 bell pattern that signals a fallen fire fighter. Fire fighters sacrifice their lives to save lives and protect property, and we honor those lives lost today.
My gratitude to Alderman Mike Hallquist for the invitation, and the photograph.
(Also in attendance but not pictured State Senator Dale Kooyenga.)

COVID-19 Vaccine Update
As of October 1st, 6,359,534 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Wisconsin and 56.7% of Wisconsin residents have received at least one dose, with 53.8% fully vaccinated.
If you have not yet been vaccinated, now is a critical time to get your vaccine. The vaccine protects individuals and communities from getting seriously ill or dying of COVID-19, including the variants. Currently, Wisconsin is seeing a rise in cases as the Delta variant spreads among the unvaccinated. The Delta variant spreads more easily and can cause more severe illness. Find more information of COVID-19 variants HERE.
