Rep. Michalski Votes to Combat Human Trafficking

Madison… Rep. Michalski (R- Elm Grove) is proud to support a number of bills authored by the bipartisan Speaker’s Task Force on Human Trafficking.

“Human trafficking is an incredibly important issue,” said Rep. Michalski. “I’m proud to help tackle it head on with commonsense legislation.”

The legislation passed today increases awareness of human trafficking, makes it easier for victims to sue their traffickers, and imposes tougher punishments for soliciting prostitutes. 

Aware of the severity of the issue, Speaker Vos assembled the Speaker's Task Force on Human Trafficking with the aim to create a society where the safety and well-being of every person is respected and ensured.

“In communities such as Elm Grove, Brookfield, and Wauwatosa we may not see the effects of human trafficking first hand.  But it’s close to home, with both Waukesha and Milwaukee having arrests made over human trafficking in the last four months."
