Joy Goeben Sworn Into Office
Madison—On Tuesday, January 3, State Representative Joy Goeben officially began her first term in the 106th Wisconsin State Legislature. Rep. Goeben (R – Hobart) took her first oath of office in a ceremony in the Assembly Chambers Tuesday afternoon, which was conducted by Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Patience D. Roggensack.
“It is with great honor and humility that I begin representing the 5th Assembly District. Inauguration Day is a commitment to our duties and oaths of office as we enter the next biennium. I was grateful to be able to celebrate with my husband, children, and sister, whose support is invaluable to me.”
“A divided government brings a unique set of challenges and considerations during the next biennium,” she said, “but I am committed to serving as a strong voice for the values and principles of my constituency. I am excited to be joining the solid GOP majority in the Assembly.”
Rep. Goeben is one of 64 Assembly Republicans serving in the 2023-2024 legislative session.
Recently, Representative Goeben was appointed to serve as Vice Chair of the Children and Families Committee. Rep. Goeben will also serve on the following committees: Colleges and Universities, Housing and Real Estate, and Regulatory Licensing Reform.
“It is a privilege to have the opportunity to serve on these committees. I am looking forward to working through the vast array of issues that will come before these committees as well as to building relationships in the Assembly to best serve the residents of District 5.”
