Jimmy grew up in a working-class home and became the first in his family to go to college. After graduating, he attended law school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and decided to make the Madison area his home. Just before his final year at UW Law School, his life was forever changed when a drunk driver took the lives of his mother, father and little brother, and left Jimmy paralyzed from the chest down.

After going through rehabilitation, Jimmy graduated from law school and made a promise to commit himself to helping others. He started a nonprofit organization to help the victims of drunk driving. While working in this role, Jimmy found his passion for service and decided to run for office to help enact positive change on a larger scale. In 2016, Jimmy was proudly elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Since his election, Jimmy has been a strong advocate for the people of the 47th Assembly District. In his role as a State Representative, he has dedicated himself to expanding access to affordable healthcare, improving the lives of disabled Wisconsinites, and protecting our environment.

Jimmy currently lives in Fitchburg with his roommate/cat Norman. Jimmy loves reading books of all kinds, going to the movies, and writing in his free time.
