COVID-19 Update

Dear Neighbor,

In order to support your families being able to take a deep breath, turn away from constant news updates, and create a new temporary normal, my office will continue posting a near-daily update on the COVID-19 public health emergency to our website and on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

It is my hope that one reliable update each day will allow you to take a deep breath, oversee all that is happening in your own life and home, and have a reliable source of news you can count on to be up to date and accurate. As always, previous updates are on our website and linked beneath the graphic below. 

My greatest concerns right now are your lives and livelihoods. We are working hard to keep you and your loved ones safe, and to fight for our small businesses in an unprecedented crisis.

Legislative Democrats Letter Supporting USPS 

USPS - Twitter Post_.pngThis week, my Democratic colleagues and I in the Assembly and Senate sent a letter to Wisconsin’s Congressional Delegation asking for their support for additional resources for the United States Postal Service. Specifically, the provisions in the HEROES Act, passed by the House in May, which included $25 billion for the USPS and another $3.6 billion for states to support their election systems.

Public Service Commission Extends Utility Shutoff Moratorium until October 1st

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission voted yesterday to extend the utility shutoff moratorium until October 1st due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, the moratorium had been extended until September 1st. For more information about the PSC and utilities, visit their website HERE

69,059 confirmed cases (increase of 826*)

7.8% of total tests are positive (for 8/21)

5,505 hospitalizations (8% of cases- increase of 36)

60,055 recovered cases (87% of all cases)

1,103,038 negative test results (increase of 9,744)

1,068 devastating deaths (increase of 1)

Milwaukee - 22,960 confirmed cases
Waukesha - 5,138 confirmed cases
