October 30, 2019 - Incarcerated Parent Education Program
Pajarita Charles, PhD., an Assistant Professor at UW – Madison’s School of Social Work.
Her presentation provided information on supporting incarcerated parents and their children through the use of parenting programs in the corrections system. The presentation will specifically discuss the findings of Parenting Inside Out (PIO), an evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral parent management skills training program created with and for incarcerated parents.

Preschool Development Grant Briefing
In December it was announced that the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) was awarded $10 million as part of the federal government’s Preschool Development Grant (PDG). DCF Secretary-Designee Amundson and department staff presented about DCF’s plan for the funds and provide input on the next steps.
