Local Transportation Grants to Improve Rural WI Roads
MADISON – Today, Governor Tony Evers announced the distribution of $75 million for local transportation grants from the Multimodal Local supplant program to 152 Wisconsin communities.
The counties, cities and towns awarded grants within the 31st Senate District will receive more than $5.4 million to fund local transportation projects. Counties within the 31st district that will receive a grant include Buffalo, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce and Trempealeau.
In response to Gov. Evers’ announcement, Senator Jeff Smith (D-Brunswick) released the following statement:
“I’m proud to see Governor Evers has once again followed through on his commitment to invest in our rural communities, by announcing the recipients of the local transportation grant program. The aid targeted towards the communities of the 31st Senate District, along with the $465 million investment included in Governor Evers’ biennial budget, will offer sustainable solutions to better connect Wisconsin.”
