Sen. Shilling Thanks Residents for their Civic Engagement

LA CROSSE, WI – Over the course of 2019, through emails, phone calls, and letters, Senator Jennifer Shilling (D-La Crosse) has received and responded to over 7,000 contacts. Many residents in La Crosse, Vernon, Crawford, and Monroe counties also took the time to meet with Sen. Shilling at one of her 32 listening sessions, office hours, and round table events.

“As a local resident and public servant, there is nothing I appreciate more than the engagement and feedback from families, seniors, business and community leaders,” said Sen. Shilling. “Having an open dialogue ensures that everyone can weigh in on the issues impacting our state and offer insight on ways to improve the quality of life in local communities. From our conversations at listening sessions or through phone calls, emails and letters to my office, I can better advocate for the issues that matter most; like lowering health care costs, ensuring our schools are properly funded and expanding economic security for families and seniors. Thank you to the residents of western Wisconsin for being civically engaged this year. I look forward to many more productive and lively conversations in 2020.”

Senator Shilling encourages anyone to share their thoughts on state issues, legislation, or to request assistance with state agencies by emailing, calling 608-266-5490 or toll free at 1-800-385-3385, or by sending mail to PO Box 7882, Madison, WI 53707.
