Schools Districts See Pathway to Success with Gov. Evers’ Education Budget

LA CROSSE – School districts across Wisconsin are embracing Governor Evers’ state budget that will make historic investments in schools, special education and mental health services. Senate Democratic Leader Jennifer Shilling (D-La Crosse) released the following statement after discussing Governor Evers’ proposed budget with school administrators:

“It’s a new day in Wisconsin. For the first time in eight years, we have a Governor that is listening to Wisconsinites and connecting the dots to create a budget that reflects our values and invests in our local schools. The investment we make in our kids today will create a pathway to success and result in better economic outcomes for future generations.”

“As a parent of two boys, I understand that local public schools are the heart of our communities and we need to make sure we are retaining quality teachers, investing in modern facilities and meeting high education standards to give students the best possibility to get ahead. Governor Evers’ budget makes a historic investment in our public schools and will re-establish Wisconsin’s reputation as a leader in K-12 education. It’s the kind of investment that rural school districts and individual communities around the state have been asking for the last eight years.”
