Risser: Senate GOP Continues Attack on Women’s Healthcare
State Senator Fred Risser (D-Madison) said that two anti-choice, anti-women bills being debated in the Senate today —AB 310 and SB 238 – both target funding for Planned Parenthood and attempt to limit access to the important healthcare services they provide.
“Maintaining access to affordable, quality reproductive and other health care for all women is a priority of mine. Reproductive health services are vital to the health and well-being of the thousands of women, and their families, served by Planned Parenthood in Wisconsin.” Risser said.
Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin offers routine but vital medical care. This includes early pregnancy screening and prenatal care, early detection of cervical and breast cancer, referrals for domestic or sexual violence services, well woman exams, HPV screening, birth control counseling and services, among others.
“The Republican Senators seem obsessed with going after women’s reproductive and other healthcare services. I am proud to stand up for and support the vital public services of Planned Parenthood.” Risser concluded.
