Shilling statement on WI Dept. of Economic Opportunity proposal
MADISON, WI – After Sen. Julie Lassa (D-Stevens Point) and Rep. Peter Barca (D-Kenosha) unveiled a new agency model for economic development in Wisconsin, Senate Democratic Leader Jennifer Shilling (D-La Crosse) released the following statement:
“After years of mismanagement and disappointing results at the WEDC, we need a new approach that focuses on creating jobs, preventing corruption and ending outsourcing. I applaud the leadership of Sen. Lassa and Rep. Barca to improve Wisconsin’s economic development efforts and correct the problems plaguing Gov. Walker’s WEDC.”
