Leadership of Senators Bewley & Ringhand recognized with additional appointments

MADISON – Senate Democratic Leader Jennifer Shilling (D-La Crosse) has appointed Sen. Janet Bewley (D-Delta) to the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) Board and Sen. Janis Ringhand (D-Evansville) to the Joint Committee on Review of Administrative Rules (JCRAR).

“Sen. Bewley is a strong champion for affordable housing and local economic development efforts,” said Shilling. “Having previously served as a Community Relations Officer with WHEDA, Janet brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and dedication to this position. As Democrats continue to advocate for policies that strengthen Wisconsin’s working families, expanding access to affordable housing and economic opportunities will continue to be a key focus.”
“Creating a level playing field for hardworking families and small businesses is one of the most important responsibilities we have as elected officials," said Shilling. "As a small business owner and someone with experience in local government, Sen. Ringhand has demonstrated tremendous leadership skills in the Senate. Janis' commitment to education, workforce development and job creation make her an excellent fit for this position."
The WHEDA was created in 1972 by the Wisconsin Legislature to offer financing assistance for housing, small business and agricultural development. Additional information about the WHEDA can be found online here.
The JCRAR consists of five Senators and five Representatives and is tasked with reviewing executive agency administrative rules. Additional information about the JCRAR can be found online here.
