State Senator Janet Bewley (D-Delta) and State Representative Nick Milroy (D-South Range) today congratulated former Superior Mayor and current Department of Safety and Professional Services Secretary Dave Ross on his selection to head the state’s Department of Transportation.

“Safe and reliable roadways are especially vital for communities, families and businesses in the North.  We welcome the selection of Sec. Ross and his experience dealing with the unique challenges facing local and Northern transportation issues to head the DOT,” the legislators said. “Adequately and equitably addressing our infrastructure and transportation needs will be one of the most important issues in the session ahead.  We commend Sec. Ross for taking on this challenge.”

“We appreciated Sec. Gottlieb’s focus on squarely addressing our state’s pressing transportation needs,” Bewley and Milroy added.  “We look forward to working with Sec. Ross to meet the challenges ahead and ensuring that the economy and way of life north of Highway 8 are not left behind in the discussion.”
