Statement on Veto of A Woman’s Right to Know Act

Madison, WI – Senate President Chris Kapenga (R-Delafield) issued the following statement regarding Governor Evers’ veto of A Woman’s Right to Know Act, Senate Bill 591.

“It’s disappointing that for the second time in two sessions Governor Evers vetoed A Woman’s Right to Know Act, which would require life-saving information to be provided to a woman who is considering, or going through, a chemical-induced abortion.

“He talks out of one side of his mouth about empowering women, yet out of the other side he essentially says he doesn’t want them to have all the information to make the best decision.

“The Governor’s track record makes it clear that he doesn’t have a problem with discrimination against some of the most vulnerable women—the ones still in the womb. It seems he purposely wants to limit knowledge, the end result being the maximum number of children killed through abortions.”
