Welcome to my e-update!

My name is Brad Pfaff, and I am proud to represent you as State Senator for the 32nd District in the Wisconsin State Senate.

Our district includes La Crosse, Vernon, Crawford, and southern Monroe County.

In January, I took an oath at the State Capitol and made a promise to work hard for the people of Western Wisconsin. I fully intend to keep my promise and show up every day for the 32nd District.

As we continue to work through the passage of the biennial budget, I encourage you to reach out to me and share your thoughts and priorities so that I can best represent us in Madison.

This newsletter helps me keep in touch with all of you and provide updates on what's happening around the district and in the State Capitol.

Around the District

Pischke Motors has been a community staple for three generations—family-owned for more than 100 years. It was an honor to present Pischke Motors president Rahn Pischke and members of his family with a citation commemorating the company’s 101st anniversary.

Earth Day Celebration in Monroe County

On Earth Day, I joined the Monroe County Conservation Department for a tour to learn about the collaboration taking place among landowners and farmers. I enjoyed seeing producer-led conservation efforts work effectively in the 32nd District. I hope that we can continue being a model for other regions across the state.

Promoting Treatment and Diversion Programs in La Crosse

You always hear me talking about community—neighbors helping neighbors—especially when they’re going through a tough time.
I’m thrilled that the Governor is proposing to expand the Treatment Alternative and Diversion program, which has broad bipartisan support. I joined Governor Tony Evers for a press conference in La Crosse to discuss this important issue.

Norwegian Heritage runs deep in the 32nd District, and it was my honor to meet with Westby Syttende Mai royalty at the State Capitol last week.

Capitol Update

CLEAR ACT Introduction

PFAS contamination in the Town of Campbell and across the state is a serious matter. I joined Governor Evers and a group of officials to announce the reintroduction of the CLEAR Act, an important solution to manage the health impacts of these dangerous chemicals. I will work hard to advance this critical legislation in the State Senate.

DATCP Secretary-designee Romanski Confirmation Hearing

In 2019 when Governor Evers appointed me as DATCP Secretary, Randy was the first person I called to serve on the leadership team. I knew his expertise would be instrumental to the department. I am urging my colleagues to support his confirmation.

Investing in the Care Economy Helps Families of All Ages

One thing nearly everyone has in common is we all have an older person in our lives who helped raise us, put food on our table, and shared our most memorable moments. Once those special people reach an age when daily tasks get more difficult and they need somebody to lean on, we want to be there for them like they were for us.

COVID-19 Update

Wisconsin’s vaccine rollout is making significant progress—half of La Crosse County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine. However, we are seeing an uptick in young people who have not yet had access to the vaccine.

I urge everybody to get their vaccination if they have not done so and exercise caution as we work towards returning to normal. Visit http://dhs.wisconsin.gov for more information on the virus and vaccine providers near you.
