Welcome to my e-update!

My name is Brad Pfaff, and I am proud to represent you as State Senator for the 32nd District in the Wisconsin State Senate.

Our district includes La Crosse, Vernon, Crawford, and southern Monroe County.

In January, I took an oath at the State Capitol and made a promise to work hard for the people of Western Wisconsin. I fully intend to keep my promise and show up every day.

This newsletter helps me keep in touch with all of you and provides updates on what's happening around the district and in the State Capitol.

Around the District

Honoring our veterans at VFW Post 1530

This Veterans Day, I visited VFW Post 1530 in La Crosse.

I had the opportunity to speak with Post Commander Jamie Eklov and VFW State Commander Cory Geisler and thank them, and all of our veterans, for their service and commitment to our community.

Highlighting the importance of disability services at Aptiv in La Crosse

Everyone deserves the opportunity to live an independent, fulfilling life.

Recently, I participated in a roundtable on disability services at Aptiv, where we discussed the challenges that Aptiv, other care organizations, and people with disabilities face. I will continue supporting our care workers and people with disabilities.

Rebuilding Wisconsin: Bipartisan infrastructure bill will create good jobs, new economic opportunities

Good roads, bridges, and broadband create jobs and open new economic opportunities. The recently signed infrastructure bill is a generational investment that provides us with the tools to rebuild western Wisconsin.

That's why I was proud to stand with Rep. Ron Kind and local labor leaders to share what this bipartisan deal means for our state.

Capitol Update

Column: Fair maps will bring decency back to government

Voters should choose their elected officials, not the other way around.

Here in Wisconsin, we won’t always agree on everything, but regardless of our political beliefs, we can agree that it’s time to unite our state by working toward our shared values instead of playing partisan politics.

Fair maps will ensure that all voices are heard.

Export enhancement bill passed in State Senate

Wisconsin agricultural products are some of the best in the world, and farmers being able to access international markets is a crucial part of growing our rural economy.

I’m proud to share that last week, the State Senate unanimously passed legislation to increase Wisconsin’s agricultural exports.

What's good for our farmers is good for our state.

Clean water bills receive committee hearing

Water is our most precious resource, and rural landowners are some of our most important stewards. Preventing runoff and pollution while helping homeowners replace contaminated wells will aid existing efforts to promote good stewardship here in Wisconsin.

Last week, the Agriculture and Tourism Committee held a hearing on two bills that would significantly help rural residents and agriculture producers continue to lead the way on clean water initiatives.

SB 677 / SB 678

Externship Day with Operating Engineers

It was a pleasure welcoming prospective apprentices to the Wisconsin Operating Engineers Training Center in Coloma for Externship Day. Students from across the state had the chance to learn more about building a career as a highly-skilled operator.

I want to thank IUOE Local 139 for inviting me and putting together a fun and informative day!

COVID-19 Update

COVID vaccine available for children ages 5-11

Good news: Kids aged 5-11 are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

I encourage parents to talk to their family pediatrician about getting their children vaccinated. It’s the best way for us to beat this virus as a community.
