Sen. Smith Welcomes Questions from Wisconsin Residents for
COVID-19 Interview with Public Health Experts

MADISON – Senator Jeff Smith (D-Brunswick) announced he will be hosting a virtual interview with public health experts on the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to the large surge of COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin, Senator Smith planned this interview for residents to learn directly from public health experts about their work and the preventative measures they recommend to keep communities safe.

Senator Smith is inviting Wisconsin residents to submit questions they would like answered related to the COVID-19 pandemic in advance of this interview. Senator Smith is asking Wisconsin residents to submit questions by Thursday, November 12th. Questions can be submitted to Senator Smith’s office by emailing Sen.Smith@legis.wisconsin.gov.

Senator Smith will be interviewing Peter Thielen and Dr. Paraic Kenny. Mr. Peter Thielen, a University of Wisconsin-La Crosse alumnus, is a Senior Scientist in the Research and Exploratory Development Department at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland. Dr. Paraic Kenny is the Director of the Kabara Cancer Research Institute of the Gundersen Medical Foundation, and is a Clinical Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Biology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
