Hi, folks. This is your State Senator Jeff Smith, checking in for the Chippewa Valley.

Over the last few weeks, my office has been hearing from dozens of people who are concerned and even frightened over the actions taken by the Trump Administration. 

They all ask the same question: “What can they do to protect themselves, their neighbors and our democracy?” We all have a voice and we must use it. 

Our congressional members can put the brakes on the Administration’s blitzkrieg and it’s our job to make sure they do it. Only Congress stands in the way to prevent the Trump Administration from illegally and chaotically dismantling the federal government.

Fear and panic are pushing people to demand all elected officials stop the administration. Overall, people want our leaders to be more aggressive. 
We must band together and find strength through direct citizen contact. Now is the time to organize with others, contact members of the Republican majorities both here in Wisconsin and in D.C..

It’s hard not to be too doom and gloom when thinking about the past few weeks, but let’s take a deep breath. We are all going to need it to raise our voices together.
