Hi Folks, this is your State Senator, Jeff Smith, checking in for the Chippewa Valley. This week UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout and Chippewa Valley Technical College students are heading back to class after their winter breaks. Here in the Chippewa Valley, we have amazing schools that draw incredible talent to pursue higher education.

I hope the time spent at home with family over the holidays was rejuvenating for everyone to get back in the saddle for the new spring semester. So welcome back students! Your dedication to learning and becoming the next generation of decision makers and leaders for advancing our communities is appreciated by me and so many others.  

I wasn’t fortunate enough to attend college, because I went right into the workforce. But I recognize the importance and understand the impact your college education will have on your future. Cherish it, keep at it and use it for a better life and a benefit for our entire society. 

So as you embark on this spring semester, study hard and remember, your education is an investment in your future. This is Senator Jeff Smith signing off saying, “welcome back” to all of our students.
