Good Luck Hunters on Opening Weekend!

State Senate Session

On November 8th, the State Senate convened for a floor session to take up a number of bills. Here are a few we passed:

Senate Bill 621: Relating to: legislative redistricting. This happens every 10 years based off of national census data and it is a constitutional requirement that the Legislature pass maps.

Senate Bill 570: Relating to: limiting civil liability for firearm, firearm accessory, and ammunition manufacturers, distributors, importers, trade associations, sellers, and dealers.

Senate Bill 309: Relating to: funding for free and charitable clinics and defining telehealth.

In District

This Veteran's Day, I was honored to be a part of various ceremonies around the district, including leading the Pledge of Allegiance for the United Patriotic Society's Ceremony.  Thank you, Veterans!

It was a beautiful night for a tree lighting in Green Bay. The Peace Tree Lighting is a longtime local tradition that began 53 years ago by People for People Green Bay in response to the Vietnam War and a need for peace.

The past few months we have been distributing postcards at constituents doors. If you have received one, please send me your feedback.

Department of Transportation Updates in the 30th Senate District

WIS 32 construction complete in Oconto County

Roadway resurfacing finishes on time and on budget

(Oconto County) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces completion of all major construction to improve 14.2 miles of WIS 32 from South Chase Road in the village of Pulaski to WIS 22 in the town of Gillett. The $8.6 million project began July 26, 2021 and finishes on time and on budget.

Construction included resurfacing of WIS 32, applying a polyester polymer concrete overlay to the Pensaukee River bridge, culvert pipe replacement/repairs, shoulder shaping, beamguard upgrades or repair, pavement markings, and installation of centerline and shoulder rumble strips. Northeast Asphalt, Inc. of Greenville, Wis. was the Prime Contractor.

Roadway resurfacing will extend to life of the existing pavement and provided a smoother driving surface for motorists. New centerline/shoulder rumble strips and beamguard will enhance safety for the traveling public. Culvert improvements will help drainage.

Minor finishing work and project cleanup work may occur over the next few days.
