Sen. Bradley Recognized as “Champion of Innovation”
Bi-partisan Network Recognizes Bradley’s Leadership in Wisconsin, the Midwest
(Madison) State Senator Julian Bradley has been recognized by TechNet, a national, bipartisan network of technology CEOs and senior executives, as the organization’s 2025 Midwest “Champion of Innovation.”
Sen. Bradley was selected for his leadership advancing portable benefits reform to support workers participating in the rapidly growing on-demand and app-based economy. His bipartisan legislation sought to create a voluntary benefits framework allowing independent workers to access health, retirement, and paid leave benefits without giving up the flexibility that makes gig work possible.
“Our economy is changing, and our laws need to reflect that,” said Sen. Bradley. “I’m focused on making sure Wisconsin leads in the 21st century, and that means our statutes must support freedom, opportunity, and flexibility. That’s how we grow. That’s how we win.”
“Senator Bradley’s journey, from the wrestling ring to the Wisconsin State Senate, embodies the resilience, creativity, and forward-thinking spirit that defines a true Champion of Innovation,” said award presenter Clark Kaericher. “His leadership on policies like portable benefits reflects a deep understanding of workers’ need for independence and flexibility. DoorDash is honored to join TechNet in celebrating Senator Bradley’s vision for a stronger, more inclusive economy that empowers both businesses and workers.”
Though the portable benefits bill was vetoed, Sen. Bradley continues to deliver results that will make Wisconsin more competitive, including expanding Wisconsin’s nuclear energy future. He is also driving forward legislation to reduce regulatory burdens and bring greater transparency to hospital pricing, both of which are currently progressing through the Legislature.
