This week, Governor Evers announced the official application and selection process for The People’s Maps Commission, the nonpartisan redistricting commission to draw fair, impartial maps following the 2020 U.S. Census.

Nonpartisan redistricting is widely supported, with 51 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties, representing approximately 78% of Wisconsinites, having passed resolutions or referenda supporting nonpartisan redistricting in our state. That is why The People’s Maps will directly reflect the will of the people all over Wisconsin, and put the power back in the hands of Wisconsinites, and not special interests groups, lobbyists, and politicians.

Details about applying, eligibility requirements, the selection process, and the responsibilities of the Commission are available on the People’s Maps Commission website.

Protect Yourself and Others, Wear a Mask

It's on all of us to slow the spread of COVID-19, and wearing a mask is an important tool to protect everyone in our community.

CDC Considerations:

  • People should wear cloth face coverings in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household.
  • Cloth face coverings may help prevent people who have COVID-19 from spreading the virus to others.
  • Cloth face coverings are most likely to reduce the spread of COVID-19 when they are widely used by people in public settings.

Also, don't forget to continue to practice social distancing, wash your hands frequently, and choose to stay home when you're able.
