Bewley & Meyers to Host Budget Listening Sessions in Phillips and Park Falls

Legislators invite the public to voice their opinions on Thursday April 13th

State Senator Janet Bewley (D-Mason) and State Representative Beth Meyers (D-Bayfield) will hold listening sessions April 13th on Governor Walker’s proposed 2017-2019 state budget.  The sessions will be held at the Phillips Public Library from 11:00 to 12:30 pm and the Park Falls Public Library from 1:30 to 3:00 pm.  Bewley and Meyers want to provide local residents with an opportunity to voice their opinions on how the Governor’s proposed budget will affect their family, friends and neighbors in Northern Wisconsin.

The listening sessions is open to the public and the lawmakers urge any citizen concerned about the impact this budget could have on their community to participate. “The state budget is one of the most important pieces of legislation that we will consider during the next two years.  This legislation will have an impact on the daily lives of those in Northern Wisconsin.  It is essential that the citizens of the North be given a chance to offer their views and influence its outcome,” the lawmakers stated.

If anyone is unable to attend but would still like to submit testimony they can do so by emailing Senator Bewley at, or Representative Meyers at
