Bewley and Milroy Budget Listening Session

Northern Legislators to host afternoon session in Superior on Monday March 16th

State Senator Janet Bewley (D-Mason) and State Representative Nick Milroy (D-South Range) will hold a listening session on Governor Walker’s proposed 2015-2016 State Budget in Room 270 of the Douglas County Courthouse complex at 1313 Belknap Street on Monday March 16th from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

The Northern Lawmakers are holding the session in Superior for their constituents who could be impacted by the governor’s proposed state budget.  The listening session is open to the public and the lawmakers urge any citizen concerned about the impact this budget could have on their community to participate.

“The State budget is the most important public policy Legislators will consider during the next two years and it is essential that citizens be given an opportunity to offer their views and influence its outcome,” the lawmakers stated.

If anyone is unable to attend but would still like to submit testimony they can do so by emailing Senator Bewley at and/or Rep. Milroy at

Senator Bewley and Representative Milroy also strongly encourage citizens to attend the budget hearing being held in Rice Lake on Monday, March 23, by the Joint Committee on Finance. This committee is responsible for amending the budget prior to it being voted on by the full legislative body. The Rice Lake hearing will be held at UW-Barron County beginning at 10:00 am.
