Wirch Statement on Killing of St. Croix County Deputy Kaitie Leising

Madison – Sen. Bob Wirch (D-Somers) issued the following statement this afternoon on the shooting death of St. Croix County Sheriff’s Deputy Kaitie Leising:

“My thoughts are with the family, friends and co-workers of Deputy Leising.  This was a senseless act of violence committed against a dedicated public servant, doing her job to keep her community safe. At just 29, Deputy Leising should have had her whole life in front of her.  Her tragic death should be a reminder to us all to never take a day or even a moment for granted.  I hope that Kaitie’s wife and young son find some comfort in the memories they have and the outpouring of support from people across the state and country.”
