Statement on Speaker Paul Ryan’s Announcement I cannot imagine a better friend personally, politically or legislatively than Paul Ryan. I am saddened, but understand, his announcement that he will not seek re-election. It is a sad moment for southeastern Wisconsin and the country.

Statement on Rep. Tom Weatherston’s Retirement Public service is often a thankless endeavor. I would like to thank Tom for his lifetime of service to Racine County, Wisconsin, and our country. I am glad he will continue to be a fixture in our area, and wish Tom the best in a well-earned retirement.

Repeat Drunk Drivers Will Lose License In just the last couple of weeks we’ve seen several 4-time drunk drivers in our area. It’s ridiculous and it’s got to stop.

Statement on Unanimous Senate Support to Close Lincoln Hills I appreciate my colleagues support to close Lincoln Hills by the end of 2020, and their investment in mental health treatment. Wanggaard Bill Targeting Human Traffickers Passes Senate A bill making it easier to find and arrest human traffickers passed the State Senate on an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote. Senate Bill 541 allows the Department of Justice (DOJ) to quickly learn who is using a hotel room for human trafficking.
