Statement on Passage of Right-to-Work Law

“My number one goal as a state senator is to grow the state’s economy. This bill puts us in a more competitive position to expand and recruit jobs and businesses to Wisconsin. In addition, Right-to-Work states have twice the job growth as forced unionization states.

I’ve said many times that I am proud of my union and my former union status, and would have voluntarily joined my union if had the option. But, I also recognize that others may not have wanted to join the union and they should not be forced to. And that’s the bottom line – no person should be forced to join a union to have a job.”
