Riverview Students Work to Reduce Eye Disease
Last week, I enjoyed a visit from an impressive group of students from Riverview School in Silver Lake. The students came to present their "Project Citizen" proposal about spreading awareness about the importance of eye examinations for infants. The students won 1st place in the state competition with their project, which is aimed at preventing unnecessary eye diseases and even blindness. It was wonderful to hear from the students and see how passionate they are about this issue. Congratulations to Jordyn Delargy, Kaleb Gendron, Hannah Andrea, Veda Gross, Mason Cummings, Zach Colletti, Teagan Maki and Emma Spive and teachers Cari McBurney and Stacy Evans on all your hard work. I look forward to working with them on this issue during the upcoming legislative session.
