MADISON, WI - This evening, State Senator Kristin Dassler-Alfheim (D-Appleton) attended her first biennial budget address, in which Governor Evers outlined his 2025-2027 budget proposal. Senator Dassler-Alfheim released the following statement at the conclusion of the Governor’s remarks:

“Kids are the most important investment we can make as a society, and it is an absolute non-negotiable that we ensure they are healthy, housed, fed, and educated. The Governor’s proposals to lower the cost of prescription medications and invest in public schools, affordable housing, and childcare don’t just benefit kids – they benefit all Wisconsinites, regardless of political affiliation. Investing in kids isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s the fiscally responsible thing to do.

“I’m excited to see what common ground we’re able to find with our colleagues across the aisle on these commonsense, economical proposals. Partisan games have set us back, and it’s time we move past them and move forward, together.”
