TOUR THE CAPITOL
There are free tours available in the state capitol year round, seven days a week. From Monday through Saturday, the tours depart from the Information Desk on the ground floor of the capitol rotunda at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00am, and 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00pm. Sunday tours are available at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00pm. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day an additional 4:00pm tour is offered every day. During the summer the sixth floor museum and observation deck are open to the public, offering incredible views of the city of Madison and of the isthmus. To learn more about arranging a tour of the capitol during your upcoming visit to Madison, please visit the capitol tours web page. For groups of ten or more, please call (608) 266-0382 to reserve your tour, or complete the online reservation form you will find on the web page.
If you are visiting with a group, including school groups, and would like a group photo set up in the Rotunda, please reach out to my office. We are happy to set up a group photo and print out commemorative postcards for people to talk home with them, free of charge.
