Marklein Statement on Public Service Commission (PSC) Approval of Cardinal-Hickory Creek Transmission Line Project
Madison, WI - Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) made the following statement following the announcement that the Public Service Commission (PSC) unanimously approved the Cardinal-Hickory Creek Transmission Line project:
“I appreciate the difficult deliberative work of the PSC Commissioners and I trust that they took my concerns – and those of my constituents – into consideration while studying the project proposal,” Marklein said. “It appears that they determined that the project will have value, especially in light of Governor Tony Evers’ recent Executive Order to make Wisconsin 100% carbon free by 2050.”
“The residents of the 17th Senate District did their best to participate in the process and I appreciate all of the time and effort they dedicated to educating me and the PSC,” Marklein said. “Their advocacy was an important part of the discussion and made an impact.”
