SENATOR MARKLEIN RESPONSE TO BUDGET HEARING IN REEDSBURG
Reedsburg scheduled to be one of four locations for statewide hearings

MADISON— State Senator Howard Marklein (R-Spring Green) responded to the public hearing on the 2015-17 proposed budget scheduled for Reedsburg:

“As a member of Joint Finance Committee, I requested that we have one of the public hearings in the 17th Senate District. I believe it is important that legislators hear the feedback from residents in Southwestern Wisconsin. I am proud of the district that I have the privilege to represent, and think it is good for us to have some statewide media attention.

“This appears to be only the second time in 25 years that the Joint Finance Committee will have held one of the statewide public hearings in this senate district. We are fortunate to have a wonderful facility at the CAL Center at Reedsburg High School. This is a perfect venue for one of the four statewide public hearings.

“The four public hearings scheduled around the state are another step in the fluid budget process. I remind my constituents that the proposals in the Governor’s budget are not set in stone. I encourage my constituents to attend the hearing and continue to share their opinions regarding the budget with me as we continue the process toward a final budget.”

The Joint Finance Committee will hold the hearing on the 2015-17 budget in Reedsburg on Thursday, March 26 from 9:30am to 4pm at the Communication, Art, and Learning (CAL) Center located at 1100 South Albert Avenue.
